Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium at Stanton-in-Peak C of E Primary School

What is the Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium (PP) is funding provided to schools in addition to main school funding. It is allocated according to the number of pupils on-roll who are eligible for 'targeted' free school meals (FSM) or part of Ever-6 protected funding, a smaller amount allocated according to the number of children of service families, and an allocation for each pupil who has been ‘Looked After’ (in care) for 6 months or more.

It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the pupils within their responsibility. However, schools are to be held accountable for how they have used the additional funding to support pupils from low-income families. Please see below how we use PP funding, and our plans for future spending.

Our Aim:

At Stanton-in-Peak C of E Primary School and Nursery we aim to:

  • Raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap with their peers.
  • Ensure that all disadvantaged pupils make the most of the opportunities provided for them by providing financial help for school clubs and trips.
  • Support children and young people whose parents are in the armed forces.
  • Providing funding to benefit looked-after children (LAC).

How will the Pupil Premium be spent at Stanton-in-Peak?

Pupil Premium Spending

Spending includes:

  • TA hours at Grade 7 to support Pupil Premium pupils in class and provide interventions as necessary.
  • Funds are used to support Pupil Premium children who struggle to pay for school trips and residentials.
  • Class texts/books for each child.
  • Laptops for each Pupil Premium child.

In addition to this overview, a Pupil Premium spending plan is written for each pupil as we recognise that each of our children is different and has individual circumstances and requirements.

How well do the children receiving Pupil Premium do at Stanton-in-Peak?

The progress of these children is carefully tracked and reported, anonymously, to the Governing Body. Due to the very small numbers of pupils receiving Pupil Premium this data is not available on our website to ensure that the progress of individual pupils can not be identified. However, the pupil premium grant has provided much needed help to those receiving it, lowering barriers to learning and giving our children every opportunity to progress and succeed
